Cris Prolific (born Cris Montout) 28th of January 1974, raised in France and in the United States (Minneapolis, New-York) based in Brussels is a french producer with caribbeans origins from Marie-Galante, Guadeloupe and Cabo Verde who likes thinking outside the box. One of those most diverse in the field of hiphop producers in Europe affiliated to the Detroit scene due to his musical sound vibrations-

He started his first steps in Hip Hop culture as a dancer and participated to the first HipHop tv show in the world (Paris / France) presented by Sidney along with the PCB (Paris City Breakers). Music has always played a part in his life as hhe was surrouded by tones of vinyls with his parents and his brother was also a bass player and drummer. He started playing the piano at the age of 6 and was well known for his skills at dancing so he dedicated himself naturally to music as first inspiration-

He first start off his craft in 1996 by joining french mc's and producers TIme Bomb collective which revealed soon enough talents like Lunatic, Diable Rouge, Dj mars, X-Men, Oxmo Puccino, Dj Sake, The Jedi aka Ghetto Diplomats among others-

Thanks to an opportunity to having produced a tune for X-Men their CEO (Universal) offered a chance to remix the official single tune of 'The Roots' with Erykah Badu 'You've Got Me' off to their classic 'Things Fall Apart' Lp which led to a success and gave him the chance to meet ex A&R MCA/ Universal (NY) Wendy Goldstein who was the one who launched the Europe remix and offered him to remix Common with his new single 'The Light' off to his 4th classic piece 'Like water for Chocolate' which was a heavy hitter in the U.S but apparently not in Europe according to Universal (Paris) due to the lack of interest over radios, so in consequence his remix couldn't be released.

Though he randomly met with Common at .. not far from this meeting with Wendy Goldstein and gave him his only version he had on cd.

I was not far from meeting James Yancey for the first time back in the late 90'S as I was constantly in New York at the time and on the way to move into the city for my musical expansion and I knew ElectricLady studios was a permanent soulbase to mosts artists I was referring to

He kept on his craft in NY and was introduced to Todd Terry (founder of the Ministy of Sound) who was in charge to set back the Native Tongue activists known as The Jungle Brothers with a solid new Lp. Several producers were selected with him such as Hi-Tek, J Dilla Just Blaze but soom after 9/11 chaos took place, the project was canceled. Disappointed with this experience which could enable him rise as an interesting musical experience, he returned to Paris.

He participated in many solo projects and collaborated with the best french rappers like Lunatic, X-Men, Ali, Rocca, Arsenic, Oxmo Puccino, Dune, Kery James, Pit Bacardi, Disiz La Peste, Loudness, Beedjy-

He joined the very well established french label Versatile runs by pioneer dj and producer Dj Gilb'R who gave him opportunities to remix and release very great projects he was working on as Kemit Sources with fellow singer and producer Jayhem (from french house hitters Kojak) which was an orginal twist of deep house mixed with afro creole vibrations called KA' from Guadeloupe. This project aroused serious attentions worldwide among great producers and remixers whom reached out the label in order to remix their original versions such as King Britt, Osunlade, I-Cube and IG-Culture-

As Kemit Sources was gaining some attention from djs all over like Dj Angola, Dj Rich Medina, Osunlade, Jephte Guillaume, Nickodemus to name a few, they kept on their craft and released a new single 'Pas An Tombe' over Isma'a record label, centered on latin and afro soul music. A new label from Chicago 'Deeper Soul Records' reached out Kemit Sources in order to offer an eventual collaboration which led them to a new project with great jazz percussionist Kahil El Zabar, (Ritual Trio /Ethnic Heritage Ensemble) also known as the chairman of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM) and IG Culture.

On the same label he was then proposed to remix the divine poetess and singer Cesaria Evora from Cabo Verde through a great remix project Club Sodade which includes some of the great producers of house, broken beat, techno, drum and bass such as 4Hero, Chateau Flight, Osunlade ,Kerri Chandler, Carl Craig, PePe Bradock among great others.

Also did a remix for his old class fellow I-CuBE featuring RZA, (founder and figure of the Wu Tang Clan) on the single 'Can You Deal With That?'- One of his exclusive production appears on Versatile's compilation 'Past-Present-Future' released in Japan with the tune 'Aurore'-

Soon afterwards on the same label he released his first international 12 called 'People' with guest appearances from Nigerian singer AYO and Detroit felllow rapper and producer Ta'Raach aka Raach who has worked with one of the greatest and regretted James Yancey aka Jay Dee aka J Dilla (Welcome II Detroit), Platinum Pied Piper, Blu, Erykah Badu, Jay Electronica, Sa Ra among others.

This first piece encountered a great success and revealed his skills as a beatmaker worldwide and was played over several alternative broadcasters radio such as BBC 1XTra by Benji B and 'Worldwide' by Gilles Peterson-

After a long self introspection he completed an international album 'Art / Money' a pun for "Harmony" on record label 45 Scientific with a very ambitious lineup with eclectic and soulful compositions at its best-

Gathered the ones he was close to especially from the Detroit scene and this first Lp was supposed to appear with the one and only J DILLA, but due to health complications the record session never took place. The track he had chosen was 'Innovators' the one with Black Milk and Wildchild-
