Are you a bowl or cone person? For me, it’s 100% a cone every time. And if that cone happens to be chocolate filled? Pure joy ensues.
The best for last.
A chocolate-filled cone provides so many life benefits. Let’s discuss. Filling a cone with chocolate creates a melty ice cream barrier. No soggy cones in this house. The ice cream keeps the chocolate extra cold which creates a double crunch layer. And texture is everything. Dark chocolate adds a nice bitterness to your ice cream treat. So you won’t have a sweetness overload. And lastly, and most importantly, the chocolate collects at the bottom of the cone making your last bite, the most perfect bite. You’re welcome. Xo.
Check out the recipe video below for a tutorial on how to make these chocolatey cones:
Chocolate Filled Ice Cream Cones
Ingredients
- 2 store-bought waffle cones
- 2 oz dark chocolate
- ½ tsp coconut oil
Instructions
- Heat the chocolate in the microwave in 15 second increments until the chocolate is mostly melted.
- Add the coconut oil and stir. The chocolate should melt completely thanks to the heat of the bowl. If it hasn’t melted completely, place in the microwave again for another 10 seconds.
- Take one waffle cone and spoon the chocolate into the cones, coating the insides entirely.
- Freeze the cones until the chocolate is solid, about 20 minutes.
- Enjoy with your favourite ice cream.
