Product Description

Shilajit’s origin lies in the ancient organic plant material preserved in the dark crevices of the Himalayan Mountains. As the sun warms up the mountain and melts the snow, a soft, heavy resin seeps out and is collected by local farmers. This thick resin is then dried and ground into a fine powder known as shilajit, meaning “rock-invincible” in Sanskrit. It is high in iron with important nutrients like fulvic acid, calcium, selenium and magnesium.

Our raw Shilajit powder is meticulously harvested by hand at high altitudes to ensure the purest product possible. It is then purified to remove any contaminants, low-temperature dried and tested to be free of pollutants before being encapsulated in an organic, vegan friendly capsule.

There is no information about the fulvic acids (FAs) content. The website of Sunfood only indicates: 'Shilajit Extract Powder' and 'Raw Shilajit' (which are somewhat contradictory). However, they also have a different product, Shilajit Capsules (500mg, 90ct), for which the ingredients are listed as: 'Raw Shilajit Extract (minimum 15% fulvic acid)'. I assume that the this powder might be the same what's in their capsule form. This 15% FAs content is somewhat more potent (concentrated) than most of the other companies' (highly diluted) shilajit products (with ~5% FAs), but is less concentrated than real (more expensive) shilajit powders (with ~50-60% FAs).That being said, at about a ~1.5 g per day dose the energizing effect off this powder is quite noticeable. Although, it might be rather because of the enhanced effect of other supplements (e.g. coQ10), which I co-ingest with the powder, since shilajit (especially the FAs in it) has a known ability to bring other nutrients into solution and drive them into the cell.

    I’ve tried several types of shilajit and this is by far the best for me.

    I take this each morning (½ tsp) with 1 tsp of ashwaganda, and a table spoon or maple syrup. Add hot water ~4oz) then top off with milk.

    Drink this first thing on an empty stomach and you’ll always have mental clarity when you wake up (it will take a day or two but it works very well)…

    Shilajit shouldn’t be taken all the time unless you’re elderly or have some specific medical condition. However if you’re recovering from surgery it will help to recover faster (this is one of the things it’s well known for)…

    Final word of warning — NEVER — EVER — take a second dose in a 24 hour period. You will get one of the worst headaches ever and nothing will fix it.

    I will be 55 years old in a couple of months. I have been taking a capsulized form of Shilajit for about 8 years now. It was good, and imported directly from Tibet. When flooding knocked out the factory that produced the capsules, and a delay of several weeks happened and I was without the product, I immediately noticed that my energy level went down and I felt drained and foggy. I heard that my old supply would come through shortly, but because of not having any Shilajit, I decided to try this product.

    I have now switched from the old product to this one exclusively. I was taking about 1000mg to 2000mg of the capsules. I take a quarter teaspoon of this, mix it with some juice and drink it down before my morning shower. By the time I dry myself off, I am very alert and awake and ready for the day.

    I am always quite surprised when people say how amazing I am for my age. I don't feel like I'm 55 at all, more like I'm in my late 20's. Now to be honest, I have been taking vitamins and supplements practically daily since I went to University at age 20, and that has helped a lot, I am sure, but I adjust what I take from time to time. When I was introduced to Shilajit, I knew I had found a winner.

    One package of this has lasted my wife and I over 4 months. I still have a lot of it to use in the days that come. While I may miss taking it 3 or 4 days out of a month, I fully expected one bag to only last me about 2 months of pretty much daily use. It has lasted double that and I still have more.

    To me, this is a hands down winner. All Aces in my book.

    Great health benefits, but tastes terrible and the flavor will dominate absolutely anything you put it in. I first tried putting a half teaspoon in my matcha, but it tasted like I was drinking dirt. I then tried to mask it in my smoothie with 8 different ingredients, including potent flavors like vanilla MCT powder or protein powder, and mangos, pineapple and berrries, and once again the small half teaspoon of Shilajit overtook them all and it was all I could taste.

    It has a Prop Warning on this product so be aware. Shilajit is noted for good detoxing and nutrient absorption due to it being high in humic and fulvic acid. This makes all of the nutrients in your foods super absorb into your body! It is very good at speeding up healing in the body or speeding up the beneficial effects that supplements and healthy foods have for you. This product is Shilajit in the POWDER form though so it is broken down. The pure form is the tar form. I would get that. In this powder form, I would say that it was only good for nutrient absorption, like omg wow! But I did not notice it detoxing me, which is why I got the product. I suspect that it did not do the detoxing because it had be turned into a powder so it was tampered with.
