The Scandal: Single in Seattle Book 2 Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 2,634 ratings

THE SCANDAL is an all-new marriage of convenience, age-gap novel from New York Times bestselling author Kristen Proby, set in her Single in Seattle Series, featuring Stella McKenna!

Who knew that weddings in Vegas were the real deal? I certainly didn’t when I agreed to marry my co-worker while on a bender in Sin City. Now, I need a quick annulment, which means I need an attorney, STAT.

Honestly, with a name like Grayson Sterling, Esquire, I expected an old man in a three-piece suit. But the guy behind the desk is anything
but stuffy and old. Tall and sexy with tattoos and striking blue eyes, I simply can’t take my eyes off him, and I have no intention of declining his offer of a date…and more. So much more!

The conversation between us is good, and the man should win awards for his bedroom escapades. I find myself trusting him in ways I never thought I would—until he breaks that trust.

Gray insists he can fix it.

He claims he loves me.

But I don’t know if we can survive this.

Couldn’t get enough of Stella and Gray!

Couldn’t get enough of Stella and Gray!
I couldn’t get enough of Stella and Gray! This second generation of the Montgomery family is perfection. This book had me going through so many emotions with Stella and Gray as they dealt with what life threw at them. The way Stella and Gray met had me laughing so hard and that moment the stars aligned for it to happen and it really showed you Stella’s personality. Gray is the calm to Stella’s storm and I loved how supportive they both were of each other.I cannot wait for The Score to read Sophie Montgomery’s story.

I absolutely loved The Scandal by Kristen Proby, it is an incredible love at first sight love story. It is the second book in her Single in Seattle series. Kristen Proby showed that she is an amazing storyteller. I could not put The Scandal down and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is written in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting inside their minds and knowing their thoughts and how they really feel. The Scandal is a love at first sight love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. The Scandal is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, Kristen Proby did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. The Scandal is the story of Grayson “Gray” Sterling, corporate attorney and Stella McKenna, interior designer for Emerald City Interiors. Stella and her co-worker and best friend, Danny went to Vegas for Danny’s bachelorette party and drunkenly got married by an Elvis impersonator. Neither one of them realizes that they are legally married until Danny and Brandon try to apply for a marriage license. Brandon asks one of his fellow attorneys to oversee the annulment of Stella and Danny’s marriage. Based upon on his name, Grayson Sterling, Stella expects an old man. When Stella arrives one at Gray’s office she is surprised when she sees him. They are immediately attracted to one another, and I love how Gray tells Stella that she will have dinner with that night. I love the sizzling chemistry between Stella and Gray. Things quickly heat up between the two of them. Conversation between Stella and Gray flows so easily, I love that both Stella and Gray share secrets with one another that they have not shared with anyone before, especially the secrets that Gray shares about his family and Stella’s about her upbringing with her cousins. I love all the heart-to-heart conversations that happen between the characters in The Scandal. As Stella and Gray spend time together, things continue to change between them, and they both admit their true feelings for one another. I loved that The Scandal is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Stella and Gray are facing that need to be resolved. I love that there were multiple storylines: Stella’s fear about the major project she is working on for Florence Paddington, Gray’s concern about his mother’s health, the age gap between Stella and Gray, but most importantly Stella and Gray’s love story. I love how all the storylines get so beautifully resolved. I loved that The Scandal is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Stella and Gray are facing that need to be resolved, and the plot twist that threatens their relationship. I love the ending of the love story, and how both Stella and Gray change because of their love for one another. My favorite part is the epilogue and how it goes beyond a happily ever after and the elevator scene. The Scandal is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments as well as plot twists that I have come to love and expect in a love story. I love all the support that Stella gets from her family and all the characters and the family dynamic in The Scandal the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the cousins, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I loved all the characters in The Scandal, and I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series. I love Gray's relationship with his neighbors, Betty and her grandson, Willie. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed The Scandal, who does not love a love at first sight love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story.

Stella and her bestie accidentally married one night in Vegas. Neither knew the marriage was real until he applied for a marriage license and found oops that he was already married. No matter, his fiancé's colleague, Grayson, at their law firm will handle the annulment. She didn't count on meeting Grayson and falling head over heels for the lawyer at first sight. She didn't count on her father's resistance to their age gap. And she didn't count on him pulling a move she specifically told him not to do.

Grayson's immediately fascinated by his newest client. She's strong, confident, and beautiful. He's fascinated with her, but can he keep her? If her father has his way, then no. If he makes the wrong move, even while trying to help her, then no. But there's a lot to be said for his own confidence, his own persistence, and the power of love.

The best thing about The Scandal is Grayson. He's gorgeous and commanding, but also sweet and swoony. I absolutely loved him. I am normally not about age gaps in romance, but here it wasn't a big deal, until the difference between their maturity levels became glaringly obvious, and I understood her father's dislike of their age gap. Stella was, quite frankly, acting immature at that point, and I kinda wanted someone better for Grayson. Still, he loved her so she got a pass from me. The story, the writing, all on point for this author - with intense chemistry, a ton of heart, low drama, and the most swoony worthy, gorgeous tattooed hero.

I love how these two just fit like a jigsaw puzzle.

Even though there is an age gap, they just work.

When Stella and her work mate get into a bit of a conundrum, Grayson agrees to help them out.

When Stella and Gray meet for the first time, it's insta attraction for them both.

There is witty banter and sweet moments that will melt your heart.

I'm having so much fun with this series.

Getting to know the next generation is such a treat.

Kristen Proby puts crack in her writing I swear! I'm so obsessed with this series it isn't even funny.

I love how while the tropes are very familiar her usage of words are unique and aren't repetitive. It is like a breath of fresh air.

Stella and Gray were yummy and so swoony. I loved the mini age gap and how they met. I'm a fan of the instalove attraction and to see how that plays out.

I wish we got more of Gray's family since that seemed like it was going somewhere but maybe that is in the works 😜

The Scandal is the second story in Kristen Proby's Single in Seattle series, and this one features Nate and Jules McKenna's only daughter twenty-five year old Stella an interior designer who meets thirty-four year old lawyer Gray Sterling.

When she learns she has accidentally married her gay best friend Danny. Who is about to marry Gray's friend and workmate Bradon. That's if Gray can get Danny and Stella's drunk Vegas wedding annulled.

And one meeting between Gray and Stella has them both smitten. With Grey asking her out on a date that very same night and the pair soon get serious. But with a sick mum in Idaho and Stella's dad Nate not impressed with the nine-year age gap. The pair have some obstacles to overcome if they are to prove their love for each other.

And with plenty of spicy moments, banter, familiar faces and a little emotion. This was an enjoyable read, and I would happily recommend it to others.
