I like Andrea and really felt for her pain, especially when (view spoiler). If they continue the World of Kate Daniels series, I hope Roman gets his own story as I'd like to know more about him (got to love the Eeyore pjs) and he deserves someone special.

Set in Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels universe, this novel focuses on Kate's best friend Andrea Nash (view spoiler) and Raphael the Bouda and Clan Alpha of the werehyenas.

Though the book is a standalone story, it does continue on themes and references events from the previous books. Though the book is a standalone story, it does continue on themes and references events from the previous books. You would also miss out on a lot of the world building if you skipped ahead. It's best to read the Kate Daniels Universe Books up to this point first to get the best from the story.

The plot is nicely paced, with great characters, good action and more myth expansion bringing in the ancient Egyptians. There's great interplay between Andrea and Raphael, with the young Bouda Ascanio providing some welcome laughs to the mix and a few scenes with Kate and Curran that are sweet, but don't detract from the main action. All round a strong read and well worth picking up.

I listened to this book on audio and I enjoyed it. However, it felt really long. When I felt the book was over, I checked to see where I was, it said 57%.
Andrea is funny, sarcastic, a loner and a fighter. I can definitely see why she gets along with Katie. They are so much alike.
I liked Raphael, and unlike others, I liked when he brought the barbie doll. It made his point well.
I will write a more concise review a little later

When I was reading the Kate Daniels series, I didn't really like Andrea Nash. Yeah yeah she was Kate's BFF but was she worthy of her own series? Well after reading this action-packed book, I'd have to say hell yes! Andrea is one kick-ass bouda heroine! This book is bloody and violent and great. I was turning pages as fast as I could read them just to find out what attacked Andrea next.

I understand the woman scorned, but I thought Andrea seemed unreasonably stubborn and annoying. If Andrea had such low self-esteem and a gorgeous, sexy male was interested, she should've been grateful for the attention. Instead she pushed him away and pouted when he didn't chase her down.
