The Girl with All the Gifts (The Girl With All the Gifts, #1)

This is a page turner. Full of suspense and excitement. We are in a zombie world but the book delivers a tense, nail-biter of an atmosphere rather than a screaming-help me mummy one. Ten year old Melanie only knows her cell, secure wheel-chair and classroom. She knows that her skin is whiter than snow, just like the princess of the fairy tales that her favourite teacher reads.
When will her prince come? When will she return home? What happens when the hungries break in? Why is everyone afraid of her?

"He's the only soldier here...so it's going to be Parks who calls the shots. That's not how it goes down though. The civilians have ideas of their own- always an omen of disaster and heartache in Parks' book - and they're not shy about expressing them.
So funny at times. Although the actors chosen for the film, I haven't seen it, are at odds with the descriptions."

Your autocorrect must like the name Natalie over Melanie? ;)
