Why does her dad push so hard on the books? It’s freaking summer! Her mom seems to be a nonfactor as she plays no role in the education or discipline

Her dad obviously judges people by what they have. Being poor can sometimes make us so focused on gathering stuff. Her dad was so rude to Tiffany, the mom, Manning and even Lake.
That dinner was so Judge-y and disrespectful.

I wonder why Tiffany rebelled so hard.

Manny and Lake are so interesting how they both see Tiffany as their path to each other. She’s the bridge to their individual rivers

BTW, I’m at the summer camp where Tiffany, Manny and Lake are working for $11 an hour.

I see how Madeline’s death effected him. What a terrible mother for choosing that abuser over her own child. That’s unforgivable to me as well.
I wonder if the parents will get back together
