A-Z Genres Challenge
Duration: January 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024

Goal: Read 26 genres, each one beginning with a different letter of the alphabet. Broaden your horizons and read genres that you might not have tried before!

You may use main genres or sub-genres.

*For the harder letters - Q, U, X and Z - you may use any genre with that letter in it's name.*

WILDCARDS

You will also be allowed FIVE 'wildcards' for this challenge.

Wildcards can be used in place of any letter that you're struggling with, allowing you to substitute a genre beginning with any other letter. However, the substituted genre must be different from any other genre that you have already used, so that you still end up with 26 different genres. (See example.)

*To count a book towards a challenge you must read the majority of it after the start date of the challenge.
* Where more than one option is given for a task, please state which option your book relates to.
*If the task relates to the cover of your book, please post the cover AND the book link.
*All genres and formats are fine.
*Re-reads are allowed.
*No page minimum.
*Please update your original post as you go.

*When you have finished, please re-post your whole challenge as a new message and MARK AS FINISHED or you will not be considered to have completed the challenge and we will not be able to award your Hall of Fame badge.

(Even if you don't hit the level you were aiming for by the deadline, please re-post your challenge anyway as you may still be eligible for a lower level badge.)

This may be the A-Z that really stumps me. Or maybe I'm over thinking this, I've been known to do that. 🤔

I find myself struggling with what exactly is a genre??

i.e. for the letter E. When I plug that into the genre search, very little besides erotica comes up (which is a genre I am not interested in reading, at all).

Digging further, then 'English' and 'Ebooks' comes up as a genre. Is reading a book in English or as an ebook truly a genre?

I will answer for myself and say if you look at a book goodreads list the "genres" for the book if it is there I use it
