The technique of reducing the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal using Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) is widely employed to address the issue of high PAPR in OFDM communication systems.
However, one of the most serious problems is the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted OFDM signal, since this large peaks introduce a serious degradation in performance when the signal passes through a nonlinear High-Power-Amplifier (HPA).
The OFDM is affected by the disadvantage of high PAPR. Several PAPR Techniques: SLM, PTS, Clipping, Filtering Tone Reservation, etc., to decrease the PAPR effect in OFDM systems. Significant results like error ratio, information scale, energy rise, etc.
The methods used to reduce PAPR are clipping and filtering, selective mapping, partial transmit sequence, tone reservation, and injection and non-linear commanding. The drawbacks of the above methods are computational complexity, spectrum inefficiency, increase in bit error rate and PAPR rate.
