The color constancy ratio k measures the relative deviation in edge strength between two patches i; j due to illuminant k relative to the edge strength under the reference illuminant. The ratio is essentially a chromatic Brunswik ratio (Bruns- wik, 1928), taken at the center of the border be- tween the patches.
