Manual Doors
At G & T we are here to ensure the maintenance of manual doors. For example, any door at a certain point can become sticky, noisy, slam or fail to close properly.
Now there are some instances where this can simply be inconvenient- it may simply be that in the middle of a meeting you are disturbed by someone slamming a door without meaning to. However, when the door that can’t be closed properly is a fire door then this could be potentially very dangerous.
When we fit manual doors we do so in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act and we recommend that any installed door closers should be examined every six months (this is in keeping with BS8214).
We offer a range of options for manual doors including-
- Transom overhead door closers- We work on numerous types of manual overhead door closers including Dorma, PJ, Ryobi and Axim. We can also replace older closers including Headliners or Briton.
- Briton Panic Hardware- As the name suggests this is designed to help people exit the building safely in the event of an emergency while at the same time taking into account of use for people panicking in an emergency situation. In accordance with BS EN1125 these are fitted so that people can escape easily and without needing to know how the device works, an example of this are the Briton panic bars.
- Floors springs- These are concealed door closers that can be fitted under the flooring and can be accessed via a cover plate, which is ideal for repairs or maintenance. We use Dorma springs as we find them to be reliable and they are fitted with an individual sealed box, which they are more protected from the effects of weather.
- Aluminium entrance doors- Used throughout the UK, Comar aluminium entrance doors can be fully integrated into existing security systems, providing both single and dual colour options and provide both internal and external glazing options, with thickness up to 45mm.
