A dresser is an essential piece of furniture that provides storage space and adds aesthetic appeal to your bedroom. Styling a dresser can be a fun and creative task, and with a few simple tips, you can transform your dresser into a beautiful focal point in your room!
I recently purchased this gorgeous dresser (in antique white) after seeing something similar in an inspiration image. I thought I’d round up this piece and some of my dresser decor essentials for you today, as well as share some dresser styling tips you can use with any dresser!
- Choose a theme or color scheme: The first step in styling a dresser is to choose a theme or color scheme that complements the decor of your room. You can select a theme such as vintage, modern, rustic, or glam, and then choose colors and accessories that fit the theme. For our bedroom, I like to stick with soft neutrals that make our space feel calm and relaxing!
- Layer your items: One of the keys to styling a dresser is to create visual interest by layering your items. Start by adding a decorative tray or books to the top of your dresser, then add some height with a vase, lamp, or candlesticks. You can then layer smaller items like picture frames, jewelry boxes, and candles in front of these taller items. This creates a sense of depth and dimension and adds interest to your display.
- Play with symmetry: Symmetry is a simple yet effective technique to make your dresser look well-balanced and organized. You can achieve symmetry by placing larger objects on either side of the dresser. For instance, you can place a lamp on one side and a vase on the other, or place two matching objects on either side.
- Use a variety of textures: Mixing textures is another great way to add interest to your dresser display. You can use a variety of materials such as wood, metal, glass, and fabric to create a layered and textured look.
- Incorporate greenery: Adding plants to your dresser display is an excellent way to bring life and freshness into your room. Plants also add color and texture to your display. You can choose a small potted plant or a vase of fresh flowers to place on your dresser. You know my go-to is always eucalyptus! 😉
Styling a dresser can be a fun and creative task that transforms your room’s look and feel. By choosing a theme or color scheme, layering your items, playing with symmetry, using a variety of textures, and incorporating greenery, you can create a beautiful and personalized display on your dresser!
