What is Barramundi? We get asked a lot. Currently, we are offering this dish with chanterelle, carmine pepper, wild rice, lemongrass honey sabayon. With a crowd pleasing flavor and meaty bite, Barramundi helps you eat smarter and more sustainably.

Let’s take a quick trip around the world and learn why. The Barramundi is a type of seabass that’s native to Australia and the Indo-Pacific. Barramundi is Aboriginal for “large-scaled silver fish” and is internationally renowned for its deliciousness and versatility. Currently its potential is being unlocked for sustainable farming.

Most white fish are low in omega-3 fatty acids that support brain and cardiovascular health. However, this fish has the highest Omega-3s of any white fish. Every bite is packed with protein, with just half the calories of salmon. Farmed barramundi is 100% traceable and supports the recovery of wild fish. We think sometimes doing good, tastes good.

With all of that said, that’s just a few of the reasons Harwig’s offers it on our menu. We’re happy to do right by the environment, but our real motives are transparent, Barramundi’s clean, buttery flavor and meaty texture appeals to just about everyone—even non-fish lovers call it a favorite!
