Overview
Drawn into the Heart of Reading is a multi-age, Christian, literature program for students in grades 2-8. Designed to help students appreciate and enjoy nine different types of literature, this program works with any books you choose. Once your child is an independent reader, you are ready for Drawn into the Heart of Reading! With engaging books and Godly character lessons at its core, this program will draw your students into the heart of reading.
Complete
Drawn into the Heart of Reading features 9 thought-provoking units with complete reading plans organized around 9 different genres of literature. Genre kick-offs, prereading activities, story element lessons, Godly character trait lessons, vocabulary activities, discussion questions, graphic-organized workbooks, and creative projects all work together to fashion an exciting, thorough approach to reading. Now, you can enjoy teaching your children reading with the peaceful assurance that all of your “bases are covered.”
Bible-Based
Each unit within Drawn into the Heart of Reading focuses on one literary genre, one story element, and one major Godly character trait. Each Godly trait is paired with a definition and a key Scripture verse. Character trait lessons ask parents and students to share personal examples, compare Biblical characters to book characters, and compare Biblical characters to themselves. As students search their hearts for traits to work on, they set goals to do just that. This heartfelt process teaches children to weigh the actions and attitudes of book characters and themselves in light of the Bible.
Enjoyable
Since the nine genres in the program can be taught in any order, you can start with your child’s favorite type of book or choose any order that matches topics you are studying. The program’s design ensures your children will read from every type of literature, creatively learn needed skills for each genre, respond using various learning styles, and discover new kinds of books to love! Homeschool families have been enjoying Drawn into the Heart of Reading for decades, so why not join the fun and start today?
