Srinivasa Ramanujan (22 December 1887 - 26 April 1920), India ke ek mathematician rahaa. Uske pure mathematics me koi rakam ke degree nai rahaa, fir bhi uu mathematical analysis, number theory aur infinite series ke adhyan me khaas yogdaan diis hae.

Ramanujan pahile akele mathematics me adhyan karis. Uu barraa aur jaana-maana mathematician ke aapan kaam dekhae ke kosis karis lekin uulog isme koi dilchaspi (interest) nai dekhain kaaheki jon chij Ramanujan dekhae maangat rahaa uulog ke khaatir nawaa rahaa aur sadhaaran rakam se chij ke nai samjhat rahaa.[1]

1913 me, Ramanujan, England ke mathematician, G. H. Hardy ke chitthi likhis aur Hardy uske kaam ke samjhis. Hardy uske Cambridge University me balais aur ii bolis ki, "Ramanujan dher nawaa theorem banais hae jisme se kuch ke uu pahile apne prove nai kare sakaa rahaa.[2]

Aapan chhota jindagi me, Ramanujan akele 3,900 se jaada results ke compile karis hae (jaada kar ke identities aur equations).[3] Dher ekdam nawaa rahaa aur ekdam unconventional rahaa, jaise ki Ramanujan prime, Ramanujan theta function, partition formulae aur mock theta functions, jisse ek nawaa area me research khulaa hae.[4]
