1875-1876 Silk bustle dress by unknown (Goldstein Museum of Design)

Bustle evening dress: Same silhouette as daytime gowns, but had increased trimming. Sleeves on these ball gowns were short, covering just the shoulders. By the close of the 1880s, some evening dresses had broad or narrow shoulder straps in place of sleeves.
