Michael Rooker Reteams With ‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’ Director for Next Disturbing Film
Micheal Rooker starred in John McNaughton’s entirely evil and disturbing ‘Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer’ film back in ’86. The film shook up audiences and critics alike and has held a cult status among fans. Now Rooker and McNaughton are pairing up once again to bring a new tale called Road Rage.
“I’d wanted to work with Michael Rooker again since Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, but we never got the chance. Finally, I wrote a story that took the genre in a whole new direction,” McNaughton told the Deadline. “Michael Rooker as Stony; he drives a truck and kills people. Stony is the ultimate serial killer with a twist, and he’s going home now after twenty years, to settle a score from the past.”
In Road Rage Rooker will play a serial killer who only goes out and kills the bad guys. This sets up for more of vigilante type situation. It will be interesting to see how Rooker plays the role and the places it goes.
The synopsis for Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer went like this:
“Recently released from prison, the nomadic Henry (Rooker) finds temporary abode in the rundown Chicago lodgings of a former jail acquaintance and small-time drug dealer, Otis (Tom Towles). Hiding behind his unremarkable employment as a pest exterminator, Henry leads a double life, prowling the streets by night on a brutal and apparently motiveless killing spree. As the bodies mount up, Otis finds himself inducted into Henry’s dark secret world, but when Otis’ sister Becky (Tracy Arnold) moves in, herself fleeing from an uncomfortable domestic situation, it quickly becomes apparent that two’s company, but three’s a crowd.”
We still don’t have a release date on this one but we will be sure to keep you updated.

‘Friday the 13th’ Movies Ranked By Domestic Box Office Numbers
Fans of horror often make lists to illustrate their favorite movies in a particular category or franchise. It’s a subjective idea, but oftentimes their rankings are relatable. That being said, everyone knows money talks, especially at the box office. In fact, movie ticket sales can be the deciding factor in whether or not a franchise will continue.
With 12 theatrical movies in its timeline, Friday the 13th as a movie brand has collectively earned over $383 million domestically since it started in 1980. Add in DVDs, licensed merch, international sales, and video games and that total rises to over $900 million.
But how did the movies rank overall when it comes to the box office? It’s a question worth answering because the franchise is only as strong as its weakest link. In other words, if a chapter is bad and another one is made, audiences may have second thoughts, or feel “jump the shark” despair. Conversely, and the numbers prove this, if a new movie is made that incorporates a novel idea, it will do better than a canon sequel.
Below is a list of Friday the 13th films ranked from most successful to least successful in America during their original theatrical run. We adjusted the totals for inflation rounding down to the nearest million.
Friday the 13th (1980) $148 million
Freddy vs. Jason (2003): $140 million
Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982): $117 million
Friday the 13th (2009 reboot): $104 million
Friday the 13th The Final Chapter: $96 million
Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981): $72 million
Friday the 13th: A New Beginning (1984): $64 million
Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986): $54 million
Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988): $50 million
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989): $35 million
Jason X (2001): $23 million

Jennifer Love Hewitt Officially Joins ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Reboot
Jennifer Love Hewitt has officially announced her return in the I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot/sequel; Variety announced the news today.
She joins her co-star from the original film, Freddie Prinze Jr. who announced his return this past September. Another legacy star, Brandy Norwood, from I Still Know What You Did Last Summer was in talks to return as well, but there have been no recent updates on that situation.
The new film directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, is being shot in Australia. Prinze Jr. recently bid farewell to the country in a social media post, presumably because his shooting schedule is done.
That begs the pressing question of how big will Hewitt’s part be in this new chapter. It is canon to the original so it would seem she and Prinze would have scenes together unless the director is planning to do some filming in Hollywood.
Hewitt did give an explanation for why it took so long for her to join the cast.
“A big part of the reason we’ve taken a minute is I don’t want to just be like, ‘Oh, there’s the ghost of ’90s past for five seconds in the movie.’ I want to have her come back, be there for a reason, play a real part, and show the audience who she’s become 27 years later.”
She then joked: “I think the scariest thing about the movie will probably be people seeing me as 45, since they saw me last time at 21.”
The original movie follows four friends who share a horrible secret. However, it seems a maniac with a hook knows it too, and starts killing them one by one. It becomes a race to find out who the killer is and whether or not the friends will be exposed, or die, for their horrible truth.
I Know What You Did Last Summer will open theatrically on July 18, 2025.

Watch: ’Return of the Living Dead’ Reboot Teaser Ft. Tarman
Get ready for more brains. Steve Wolsh’s reboot of the classic 1985 film Return of the Living Dead has just unearthed its first teaser. The film will be released theatrically in December, 2025. Filmmaker’s promise, “a bloody stunning new chapter, made with no CGI and all practical effects.”
The original is considered a cult classic for its comic book style, practical effects and an over-the-top performance by screen legend James Karen.
In the 1985 version, the plot starts out when, “two bumbling employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to rise again as zombies.” You might be able to guess the rest.
Wolsh’s production company, With an O Productions, told Bloody Disgusting, “Our reboot of Return of the Living Dead will expand the existing world created by the original 5 films, while staying true to the R-rated, sci-fi, horror, dark comedy roots adored by fans of the cult classic around the world for the last 35 years.”
Here’s the official synopsis from the teaser:
“Tarman is BACK and will be here in time for next Christmas! Official Announcement: The next installment of RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD will hit theaters Christmas 2025. Taking place 18 months after the events at the UNEEDA Warehouse in Louisville, KY, a new Trioxin 2-4-5 leak puts a small Pennsylvania town on the brink of a zombie outbreak during Christmas, 1985.”
