On the topic of worldly pleasures, posted this a few days ago

I first heard "Suzanne" a little over 30 years ago at a friend's place while in college. Struck me as one of the most outstanding pieces of music I had heard to that time.

"Bird on a Wire" was my favorite until I heard "Hallelujah."

He received the acclaim he deserved towards the end of his life, but it almost seems a blessing he remained obscure early on and fame didn't affect his music. Of course his monastic practices probably secured his creative peace.
