I build 1/72 aircraft, from WWII forward, only build them wheels-up. Until Dec. 2019, all my models were brush-painted (or rattle can if NMF). I finally entered the modern age of the airbrush at the end of that year.
Dad was a fighter pilot so I grew up on airbases - he was trained in T-28, T-34 & T-33, then flew F-100, F-101, F-105, F-4 (Cam Ranh Bay) and T-38 (as IP).
I'm a member of Tulsa Modeler's Forum club (www.tulsaipms.org).
Live in Tulsa, 6 kids, 1 GREAT wife.
Love the outdoors and good friends (stop and visit anytime you're in Tulsa!)
REALLY hope to build my complete stash before I die (does anyone actually know someone who has accomplished this?)!
I'm also a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, so if you ever feel the need for some extra prayer, feel free to reach out.

We held our annual show last weekend amidst a torrential downpour: www.route66modelexpo.com . Attendance in total was down a bit, though there were more models on the tables per modeler than in prior years. I think that may be because of [...]
This isn't my usual fare, but our club's meeting theme for April (I suppose in honor of Easter) was Eggplanes and Tune Tanks. I happened to be in the local Hobby Town a couple months ago and saw this, and decided, "What the [...]
Lovely little kit - already had engraved panel lines. They were a bit shallow so I re-engraved them so they'd do a better job holding panel line wash. I also riveted - pretty extensive riveting on the Ki-44! Tedious but fun. Cut out and [...]
I started this build well before my knee replacement surgery in mid-July, and just finished it this week! Post surgery I lost my mojo for a while, but am finally back on the bench.
This is the new-tool kit, is well-engineered and was a [...]
This is an old kit with raised panel lines and thick rivets, and very little detail in the crew nacelle. I sanded it smooth and engraved all lines and panels/hatches, and riveted. Added lots of details in the crew nacelle and two aircrew [...]
One of my earliest builds once back into the hobby (decades ago) was a Revell Intruder. I still have it, but will toss it now that I've built a real kit! The Fujimi kit has ducting to the blades all the way through front and rear (though [...]
Just a short promo - our show is April 20th in Tulsa. If you are a fellow iModeler, I'd love to meet you! Here's the website with details: www.route66modelexpo.com.
By the way - we've sold 50 vendor tables - a great time to add to the [...]
I love all of the Swedish jets, and decided to start my Swedish collection with the Tunnan. The original kit in my stash was a Matchbox kit, but when I opened it and saw how toy-like it was, I tossed it and found a Heller kit on ebay. The [...]
This was an IPMS review build, so I'll post the link here when the review is released.
link here soon...
ICM is putting out great kits! The Sally is one of my favorite Japanese bombers, and I still have two Revell kits and an MPM in the [...]
