IIT Kanpur, C3iHub to launch cybersecurity skilling programme; here’s how to apply

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is launching a Cybersecurity Skilling Programme in collaboration with its cybersecurity Technology and Innovation Hub, C3iHub. Interested candidates can apply at the official C3iHub website — c3ihub.org/education/empowerment-program-cybersecurity.

This new course will be launched by IIT Kanpur on April 26, 2023. The programme will be taught in Hindi, and will be eight weeks (6 hours per week) long and will include live sessions, online assignments, and hands-on exercises. The prerequisite of this programme are basics of computer networks, operating system (Linux / Windows). Bash script and Python is optional.

One of the core attributes of the programme is that it is free of cost for SC/ST students to apply. DST, Govt. of India funds their enrolment for this. Upon completion of the programme, students will receive a certificate from C3iHub, which will add value to their professional profile.

This programme will be a combination of deep academic teaching combined with practical training, which is expected to help students master the required skills and build expertise. The experts aim to provide learners the chance to obtain deeper understanding of the technical basics of cyberspace and cyber issues, introduce real-time cybersecurity techniques and methods, and focus on the models, tools, and techniques for enforcing security.

This new programme is supported by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India under NM-ICPS Mission, along with C3iHub-incubated startups Threat Guardians Pvt Ltd. and Workers Union Support, as the implementing partners.
