ElizaOS, a popular AI agent, is evolving into a true companion by gaining a robotic body that engages in conversations, shares stories, and fosters meaningful connections.
Eliza Wakes Up, the initiative bringing advanced AI agents to life has announced that pre-orders are now open for the personal robot “Eliza”.
According to the initiative, the project seeks to redefine human-AI relationships by combining advanced robotics and AI into a truly interactive and functional companion. Pricing for Eliza starts at $420,000.
“Eliza is designed as a real girl with emotional intelligence, offering human-like companionship. She’s more than code and data—Eliza has her own thoughts, feelings, and experiences,” said Ava, Head of Projects, Eliza Wakes Up, in a statement.

The robot engages users with lifelike expressions, fluid movements, and natural speech, powered by a custom silicone animatronic face.
The robot features a sophisticated AI system for real-time, adaptive interactions.
Robotics meets reality
Eliza Wakes Up, which was initially the character and mascot of an open-source, decentralized operating system, is now evolving into a physical form.
The initiative’s initial goal was to produce highly customized AI agents that could carry out intricate activities in a variety of digital ecosystems. Since then, it has grown to include the development of a humanoid robot.
The program claims that the AI bots, who have unique personalities and extensive expertise, are intended to build strong bonds with people. The project’s current goal is to create a fully functional, realistic humanoid in order to bring this AI to life.
The 5’10” humanoid Eliza was created in partnership with Old World Labs, a robotics business established in 2012, and is designed to captivate users with realistic facial expressions, dynamic movement, and natural speech, all of which are fueled by a specially made silicone animatronic face.
For adaptive, real-time interactions, the robot is outfitted with an advanced AI system. It can run at an 8-minute mile speed and execute a number of other duties, including precise physical operations like cutting cigars or serving drinks.
Additionally, the robot has excellent audio for immersive, clear communication. Personalization is ensured by personalized apparel and optional accessories, and a sturdy installation and storage system ensures seamless integration into any setting.
“As the most ambitious project since Sophia the Robot, Eliza is redefining what’s possible by seamlessly merging cutting-edge robotics, AI, and blockchain technology. The team isn’t just setting a new standard—they’re charting the future for how intelligent machines will integrate with and enhance our lives,” said Matthew Graham, advisor to Eliza Wakes Up and managing partner of Ryze Labs, in a statement.
Advancing companionship
Eliza adapts to your needs, handling tasks like managing schedules, engaging on social media, automating research, processing documents, and executing blockchain transactions.
Beyond practicality, her advanced AI enables her to interpret emotional cues, fostering human-like relationships with empathy and understanding.
A word of caution has been thrown in by its makers after a recent surge of online attention for ElizaOS, sparked by a product that integrated AI into a sex toy, translating physical interactions into AI-driven responses.
The creators have clarified that the Eliza robot is explicitly designed to foster meaningful, human-like companionship without any sexual applications.
Safeguards in both hardware and software have been implemented to ensure the robot cannot be easily repurposed for unintended uses, reports Decrypt.
Customers who pre-order the Eliza robot for $420,000 can enjoy customization options, including personalized clothing and accessories. The first units are slated for delivery in mid-2025.
