Chris Jericho Knew AEW Act Would Be A Big Hit With Fans

Chris Jericho’s AEW prediction has come true.

Compared to previous years, there has been less focus on the AEW Tag Team division. While previous years have seen the division put on match-of-the-year contenders and has often been the highlight of pay-per-views, 2024 has seen the championships take more of a back seat. However, for Turbo Floyd and Truth Magnum, collectively known as The Outrunners, the duo have had a standout year.

One of the most over acts in the company and one of the top merchandise sellers, The Outrunners have become a massive hit in 2024 with many hoping that Floyd and Magnum will become the champions in 2025.

Although some fans have only become aware of the tag team in the past year, Jericho has been aware of Floyd and Magnum for a long time and always knew that they would be something special. Appearing on Gabby AF, Jericho recounted his first meeting with The Outrunners:

“I knew The Outrunners would get over. I had them on my cruise last year. They could be tag team champions tomorrow, and people would buy it and want to see it,”

Chris Jericho Elaborates On Shock Indy Appearance

To help promote his match against Matt Cardona at Ring of Honor Final Battle, the ROH World Champion made a surprise appearance at a GCW show and attacked his challenger. With there being animosity between AEW and GCW at that point, fans were stunned to see Jericho appear. Also in the interview, Chris Jericho set the record straight on his GCW appearance.
