Best Papers

The Journal of Information Systems Education (JISE) awards up to three annual awards: Best Paper, Best Paper Finalist, and Best Paper Honorable Mention.

The Best Paper award will signify the most outstanding manuscript of the published volume. The Best Paper Finalist award and the Best Paper Honorable Mention award will signify the two runners-up to the most outstanding manuscript. Every manuscript published in the volume will be eligible for these awards. Deliberation will occur in late winter and early spring with the winners announced during the spring. All authors of all three award papers will receive a plaque. The awards/plaques will be presented at the following ISCAP Conference in the fall.

Selection Criteria

The following criteria will be used for award selection:

  • Contribution to IS pedagogy theory
  • Contribution to practice in the IS classroom
  • Uniqueness/originality of ideas
  • Quality of writing

Selection Process

The following process will be used for award selection:

  • Each Senior Editor will nominate three manuscripts.
  • Each nominated manuscript will be sent to two Associate Editors and one other Senior Editor (who did not nominate the manuscript and wasn't a part of the review process) to rank based on the selection criteria.
  • The top three ranked manuscripts will be given a final ranking by the Editor.
