Memories of Morricone

White Dog (1982)

Hoezo in KINO

“There’s got to be someone who can help him?” Samuel Fuller’s final feature is also one of the veteran director’s best. When a white German Shepherd finds a new home with a young L.A. actress, she soon finds out that the former owners of her new best friend conditioned him to attack black people. A powerful film about hate taught – and perpetuated through violence. Morricone’s melancholic and haunting score emphasises the tragic theme of the film to perfection. The keen listener recognises elements from his composition returning for Morricone’s work on Mike Nichols’ Wolf in 1994. English language with no subtitles.
