SUSANVILLE, Calif. — A restaurant was left damaged after a fire broke out in the kitchen on Wednesday night, according to fire officials.
At around 9 p.m. on Wednesday night, July 19, the Susanville Fire Department says their crews were dispatched to a fire inside Young Sing Chinese-American Restaurant on Main Street.
When units arrived, the SFD says units found smoke pouring out of the roof of the restaurant. Once they made access, firefighters reportedly found the kitchen on fire and spreading to the seating area.
SFD says firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and prevented it from spreading. The fire was found to have originated in the waitstaff prep station, according to officials, however, the cause is still being investigated.
