Ying Li is a research engineer with KTC’s Construction Engineering Program, where she studies bridge cost estimating methods, highway system maintenance rating performance, and risk-based project development. Ying also works with UK’s Superfund Research Center, evaluating the PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances) exposure risk for Kentucky Public Drinking Water Systems and modeling fate and transport of VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) inside sewer systems. She has taught courses in Construction Engineering, System Dynamics Modeling, and Environmental Engineering. Ying serves on committees with the Transportation Research Board and ASCE. Ying holds a Bachelor’s in Construction Management from Tongji University and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Kentucky. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in Kentucky.
