(KUTV) — Three sexual assaults were reported at Utah State University on Friday night.
According to a warning notice from the college, USU Police is currently investigating the three cases.
2News has reached out to Utah State for more information regarding the report. According to Tim Vitale with Utah State's Public Relations department, police are trying to see if the sexual assaults are related to The Howl: the university's annual Halloween event.
He also told 2News that there were about 6,000 people at the event, with 40 officers present and trained 150 student volunteers on things to look for in regards to assault. Vitale could not confirm if the three victims were USU students at this time.
If anyone has any information regarding the case, please contact USU Police at 435-797-1939 or in-person at 800 East 1250 North.
If you feel unsafe on campus, students are advised to call USU Police or call 911. Campus police officers provide safety escorts across campus and allow 20 to 30 minutes for an officer to arrive. If you've been sexually assaulted, you may report the incident to the police or file a Title IX report. If you're not ready to report to police or your university through the Title IX coordinator, visit with a confidential advocate or counselor.
