In this intermediate key word sign course, you will build your knowledge of key word sign and gesture in familiar, everyday activities, routines, games and songs. You will learn about how to create a sign environment using strategies and resources to encourage and support the use of sign.
The focus of this course is building your skills in signing accuracy and fluency through individual, small group, and whole group activities. You will revise the signs of the Interactive Vocabulary learned in ‘Getting Started with Key Word Sign’ and learn between 80 -100 news signs.
This workshop is presented online across two half day sessions.
What training can I do next?
After you have completed the ‘Using Key Word Sign in Daily Life’ course, you can progress to the Advanced qualification ‘Teaching Others to Use Key Word Sign’. This is offered only as a full day online workshop.

– How to tailor and apply the information to your own personal circumstances and settings
– Between 60 – 80 new signs aligned with topics such as: food, colours, animals, people, places, actions and numbers
This workshop is suitable for those that have completed the Getting Started with Key Word Sign (basic) workshop and are interested in strengthening their signing ability.
