The Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences was named a great college to work for, according to a report from the Chronicle of Higher Education.

The ranking resulted from a survey of 45,000 employees at 232 colleges and universities across the U.S. as part of The Chronicle's 10th annual report on the academic workplace.

Pa. College of Health Sciences was recognized in two of 12 categories: "facilities, workspace and security" and "work/life balance."

The facilities category focuses on whether the facilities meet employees' needs, if the campus looks good and if it has a secure environment.

The work/life balance category refers to policies that give employees the flexibility to manage their lives on the job and at home.

"We take great pride in our longstanding history of creating a work environment and culture that fosters work/life balance and the success of our employees, both professionally and personal," said Nancy Florey, vice president of human resources, in a statement.

"To be recognized in these two categories says a lot about the College’s commitment to employee health, well-being and engagement, and our new campus has greatly supported us with our efforts."

Pa. College of Health Sciences was the only Lancaster County institution on the list. View the report of great colleges to work for here.
