  5/5 for the nostalgia!
  Bujang Lapok and Do Re Mi are such classics.
  
  You don't have a childhood if you're malay and you don't even watch one of the P. Ramlee movies. Wished Malay movies could make comedies like this again. The songs in these classic movies are so iconic as well. 

  Credits to my late grandma that always watch P. Ramlee movies with me.

  The Good

  1. Three different characters. Three different narratives that eventually come together in the third act. A creative way to tell a story during this era.

  2. Solid performances from every cast members.

  3. The musical number is fun and downright iconic.

  4. The comedy scenes are effortless, timeless and simply entertaining.

  The Bad

  1. Despite an interesting story, it lacks in an end goal. It wasn't until the third act we could tell how the movie would end.

  I have never felt more conflicted on how to judge a movie objectively in relation to my cultural background. Most, if not all the works of P. Ramlee never really had an international audience in mind, and I would argue that not being from that background removes an essential part of enjoying the film.

  So I can't not bring that up, because as someone from said background, I thought it was pretty charming. I'm sure there is more to be discussed about this subject.

  Starts out slow, but when the eponymous trio finally meet, the resulting hijinks are bone crushingly hilarious.
