  baffled at how many people hate this movie on here. it has some duds, absolutely. but leave it to george miller to make a kids movie this weird and big and gross and spiritual. i mean there is BARELY a plot but i couldn’t care less as a kid and i couldn’t care less now, this thing is too bizarre to fail most of the time. the crane crashing into the ocean moment is just a striking and weirdly ominous detail, even if it’s undeniably goofy. again, some dumb choices here and there but like, i’ll take that any day over something boring. the animation looks dated in spots but honestly, there’s a handful of breathtaking shots in here that…

  Astonishingly bad. There is no story structure, the characters are either flat or annoying, random plot points and themes are piled on top of each other with no rhyme or reason, the character designs are unappealing. I thought Brave was the worst Best Animated Feature winner for sure, but leave it to this movie to prove me incredibly wrong. I can't even believe this is a real movie.

  the most unrealistic thing about this movie isn't that there are penguins that can sing and dance, it's that the human race would collectively decide to stop destroying the ecosystem because it's killing innocent animals :))))

  Almost gave up on this as I just found the entire singing and tap dancing penguin thing completely irritating, but thankfully it just continues to mutate into something weirder and more complicated, becoming a story about skepticism and religious structures with some side trips into racial inclusiveness and environmentalism. And of course George Miller is no slouch with an untethered virtual camera. To be honest I didn't particularly enjoy this, but it's undeniably an idiosyncratic and confident work.
