Whatever followed directly on Ride Him, Bosko! was bound to disappoint me, and it didn't take very long. One of the very first gags here involves a rooster doing the "drag your belly up to your chest, let it fall down with a bump" bits, something that's extremely easy to directly compare to several similar gags in Ride Him, and the chasm between the two is just unmissable: the rooster's fleshy bump simply glides up his body and drops down as a rigid ball, without the exaggerated comic distortion of what happened in the preceding cartoon.
