#5 – France from March Around the World Challenge 2024

    Horror Edition - Progress: 5/30

"Kandisha" was quite familiar, (own) flavour-ish and rather effective.

The plot should be very reminiscent of several other horror movies, and thus very "deja vu-ish", for sure. It does, however, have its own lore, per say.

I enjoyed the 3 main leads: Mathilde La Musse, Samarcande Saadi and Suzy Bemba.

Well, despite such a "vulgar" basis, I'd still say that "Kandisha" still has a lot…

#18 - Norway from March Around the World Challenge 2023

    Progress: 18/30.

"I'm sick of doing things that mean nothing."

"We, living in this lifetime, are only here for a flash."

"It feels like water. It feels like electricity."

Well, this was different. In a way, violent as it's called.

"Violent" is mainly about loneliness, living, existing and similar themes. I think it's something you experience and feel/think about, so there's bound to be endless interpretations/enjoyment of its content. It…

#34 – Belarus from March Around the World Challenge 2025

    Drama Edition - Progress: 26/30

"II" was challenging, (somewhat) troubling/upsetting and, I think, (sort of) a "cautionary tale" (or, more likely, an "issue raiser").

This synopsis here is "whole-r", which might help. For the sake of expectations, I do have to "assume" that the "context/reality" in Belarus is fairly different to what I'm used to, for the progression/production to work (better).

I enjoyed Alina Yukhnevich and had considerable trouble bearing…

    ★★★★

"Zen-ryoiki ijo kaiketsu shitsu" (that lol) aka "AARO -All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office-" (oh! that lmao Also NOT to be confused with an american agency, of all things LMAO) was... "tricky" above all, while being entertaining, captivating/intriguing, even versatile..., also (considerably) "shifty" (and possibly confusing) and, I guess, just something between underwhelming and unfulfilled, in places/at times.
10 eps with around 44 min each (minus recaps, "previews" and credits), with the 1st being the bit longer exception.

    Nah, the synopsis doesn't…

"Is it expensive because it's special? Or special because it's expensive?"

Perception can be a funny a thing, can't it?

"Hunger" was a very interesting movie, IMO.

The plot was a bit "undercooked", I felt. For its length (around 130m) there were a few things/events that seemed amiss in the story's progression. Nonetheless, and at the same time, it deals with several relevant and interesting themes and topics, while remaining engaging, compelling and somewhat thrilling, at times.

    I thought the…

The Passion of Joan of Arc

    ★★★★½

#11 – France from March Around the World Challenge 2025

    Drama Edition - Progress: 24/30

"La passion de Jeanne d'Arc" aka "The Passion of Joan of Arc" was (literally) "historical", memorable and, quite possibly, something "indelible" and yet significantly "dwindled" by time (and "others").

The synopsis (and title) should be enough for this one, though some "background" should be essential to "understand" it, if not.

Renée Jeanne Falconetti sure was mesmerizing here... even more so, if/when one considers her role's…
