A solid early example of Hitchcock's favorite scenario, the wrongfully accused man who goes on the run to prove his innocence. This had a solid construction, plenty of good suspense, humor, etc. And not being familiar with any of the actors, there was no burden of expectations. It only faltered with an ending that was a bit too neat.

A solid Chuck Norris actioner with some relevant social commentary. The last fifteen minutes were glorious. That being said, for pure entertainment value, I prefer the loose remake, Above the Law.

Which Aggie-tha was it all along?

Another atmospheric, moody erotic film from Gerard Damiano which I also liked a lot. Tom Cruise giving a performance that, if not a career best, is certainly in his top three. And a deep bench of recognizable actors showing up for a scene here and there. This had all the ingredients to be a great film, but it came up a bit short for me. While Oliver Stone and Ron Kovic were certainly the right people to bring the…

The grandaddy of FX-driven blockbusters, with Fay Wray, cinema's original scream queen. The middle (and longest) section taking place on the island went on a little long for my tastes. But that's only a minor criticism as the film is massively entertaining otherwise.
