Brian Cartwright’s review published on Letterboxd:
Gloriously silly, violent and irreverent this takes Jaws stern cynical admonitions and replays them as silly goofs. Perhaps more cynical than Jaws as Lake Placid introduces a character whose sole purpose is to insinuate that the creature’s life is worth more than every life in the film. If old and tired me had come to that message for the first time I might have been like “fuck it, the croc is better” but I am still endlessly charmed by this incredibly charismatic cast. Oliver Platt, Bridget Fonda and Bill Pullman are all adorable.
