Aims and scope

Cardiovascular Diabetology considers manuscripts on all aspects of the diabetes/cardiovascular interrelationship and the metabolic syndrome; this includes clinical, genetic, experimental, pharmacological, epidemiological and molecular biology research.

Cardiovascular Diabetology’s annual Associate Editor Award

Our wonderful Associate Editors play a major part in Cardiovascular Diabetology’s success. With continuous efforts and dedication they manage peer review of submitted manuscripts, submit ideas to develop the journal, and support execution of new journal initiatives. We have a dedicated team of Associate Editors, and some Associate Editors go above and beyond by giving detailed feedback on the author’s submitted work.

We would like to recognize these efforts with Cardiovascular Diabetology’s annual Associate Editor Award.

The criteria for the Award include the number of manuscripts handled in the given year, the suitability of selected reviewers, and the quality of the feedback to authors. This point is especially important to reach a balanced decision in cases where the reviewers' recommendations are conflicting. Based on Editors’ experience, authors highly appreciate detailed feedback, which significantly improves the quality of their research, whether it's through accepted revisions or even a constructive rejection.

In accordance with this criteria, the winners of the 2024 Associate Editor Award are: Dr Natalia Eberhardt and Dr Jens Kroll. Congratulations to both of you!
