If you need a little nudge as to why taking a little break from your business is so worth it, let this be your sign! Here's why we're setting our OOO auto-responders and unplugging until the new year... ✨Rest is essential for being your best self. It might feel counter-intuitive, but taking breaks actually benefits your productivity and the overall outlook of your business. Take breaks, and take 'em' before you burn out. ✨Your social media isn't going anywhere - Taking a few days or weeks off over the holiday will not erase all of that time and effort you put into consistent and intentional time online. Many of us aren't as active on social media over the holiday, so you're not alone if you step away to unplug. ✨Your mental health will thank you. We get it, in the craziness of life, sometimes we forget to check in with ourselves and gauge our mental capacity. Take a bit of extra care this season to give yourself the pause and reset you may need. ✨Time with friends and family is far more valuable than checking off one extra task. Enjoy this time to connect and be with those you love! Just a little PSA that Lume will be out of the office starting today until January 6th. While we'll be tempted to check our emails from time to time (what business owner doesn't have this urge), we'll most definitely be taking some time to rest and recharge away from our computers (and wish that for all of you too!). Let's talk about burnout 😅 Summer's almost over, and between juggling the kids at home, running a full-time business, and the constant buzz of home-life and summer activities, we're more than ready to unplug and regroup before fall. While we’re incredibly grateful for the flexibility our work brings and all the fun summer offers, life as a business owner, parent, and human can start to feel a bit hectic and overwhelming by this point. Here are a few ways we prioritize our mental well-being and make time for rest when burnout feels inevitable. 1️⃣ Schedule mental resets and breaks. This is essential and often overlooked. Since starting our business, we've made it a point to schedule a week off at the end of August to truly disconnect, rest, and regroup before the busy fall season ahead. Be sure to include intentional downtime in your calendar. Whether it’s 15 minutes, an hour, a full day, or a week, don’t underestimate the power of a pause. 2️⃣ Plan something just for you. We love our rituals, and taking time to do something just for yourself makes a world of difference in your energy, outlook, and stress levels. Read a book, take a walk, watch your favorite show—whatever brings you joy and gives you a moment just for you. 3️⃣ Don’t sweat the slow periods. Summertime naturally shifts day-to-day life, with many of us spending less time online and more time outside. We’ve learned to embrace the slower seasons and use this time to work on our business rather than in it. What are some essential ways you avoid burnout? We love hearing how others find balance! 🤍
