Halloween is approaching, and whether you are planning on taking your little one trick-or-treating or whether you’re attending a few Halloween parties, you’re probably thinking what you could possibly dress up as. Over the years, I’ve gone back and forth with styling Halloween looks. If you’re like me and enjoy creating stylish Halloween costumes that you can DIY using clothes in your closet and makeup in your cosmetic collection then this werewolf Halloween costume could be exactly that look that you’ll want to replicate. This sexy, glamourous werewolf Halloween costume is all about the fashion and the makeup but still gives you the costume look so that you’re still fitting the holiday. It’s a simple outfit that you can put together with easy makeup application tips for beginners like myself. So if you’re ready to make this your own, here is a full tutorial on how to create your own stylish werewolf Halloween costume.
How to MAKE YOUR WEREWOLF HALLOWEEN COSTUME STYLISH
There are a number of ways that you can go about creating you stylish werewolf Halloween costume. Honestly, when I looked around Pinterest when I was first deciding what I wanted to be for Halloween, there were quite a few werewolf costume ideas that I liked. Of course, none of the outfits or makeup tutorials that I found actually fit my skin tone, so I decided to try my own hand at creating a werewolf makeup look that fit my skill level and skin tone.
First, I started by finding an outfit that would embody the werewolf Halloween costume look that I was going for. When I think of the werewolf, I think of lots of fur all over the body and brown. Though, werewolves are also gray and can be sometimes white, a gray or white outfit didn’t quite fit the bill for this stylish Halloween costume. Then there was decided as to whether to wear a dress or something warmer. I didn’t want to do do a dress because I wanted the look to be powerful, assertive and demanding, as a werewolf would be, which is when I came up with finding a brown/tan pantsuit that just demanded attention but still gave a little flare.
Nothing says power like a stylish, form fitting pant suit that pretty much dares someone to approach you and tell you what to do. Of course, if you’re more into the vixen werewolf look there are quite a few tan or brown gowns that would be especially assertive. Compliment it with a suede brown boot and maybe a faux fur wrap, and you’ve got yourself another powerful look.
Additionally, be aware of your skin tone as you want to make your outfit and your skin tone blend as if the outfit is a part of you. When I first began looking for pant suits, I ran into a variety of brown and tan tones. Some of them blended too evenly into my skin tone and made me look washed out. Now though werewolves don’t wear any clothes, creating a nude look seemed to diminish the power that you want the werewolf Halloween costume to embody. Therefore, if you’re of a lighter complexion, I would lean towards a darker tone to create contrast, and if you are of a darker complexion, avoid wearing tones that are too dark but also don’t go too light to create too much of a contrast.

Creating YOUR WEREWOLF HALLOWEEN MAKEUP LOOK
When it comes to creating a stylish werewolf Halloween costume such as this one, you’ll also focus on the make-up. Now, I will admit that I have a beginner to intermediate skill in makeup application. When it comes to beauty, my focus is on skincare and then I focus on creating make-up looks that are complimentary to my skin tone and bone structure. But I do admit that I will get adventurous now and then, but not often enough to become a master. I’ll leave that to the professionals. In creating this look, I was able to take the necessary steps to complete the werewolf Halloween costume with simple steps that are great for beginners. Below, I’ve laid out all the steps and included all of the products that I used to create the look, but of course, depending on your skin tone, you may need to vary it a little bit.
-
SET YOUR FOUNDATION
To create this look, start by establishing a good base. Put on a moisturizing primer. Having a solid base to keep your makeup in place is essential. I also, on occasion, like to put on a translucent setting powder over the primer – especially on the days where my skin is super oily. After you have done that, match your foundation. If you use the translucent powder, go with a matte foundation is a good option, but make sure that you have put on moisturizer underneath your primer so that you don’t dry out your skin. -
CREATE THE CONTOUR
The amount of contour you create will establish the amount of fierceness in your werewolf look. I used a cream concealer that is about 3 shades lighter than my natural complexion and placed it under my eyes in an upside-down triangle shape. Then with banana setting powder, I baked the concealer in. Before removing the banana powder, I used a foundation stick to to place lines on my cheekbones, temples, and my jaw. I blended it out to establish my contour lines then used a medium setting powder to blend and set the foundation, concealer, and contour. -
FUR UP THOSE BROWS
Using a brow pencil that is the same shade as my brow hairs, I created a furry brow. I took the pencil and drew on a collection of vertical lines, and since werewolves are always the cleanest, I didn’t worry about making the brow look super clean. -
MAKE THOSE EYES GLIMMER
Since werewolves are mysterious creatures, I used brown and gold eyeshadows to create my eye look. There are a variety of palettes where you can find yellow and gold shades with neutral brown tones, but for my use, I used the Urban Decay Naked Honey Eyeshadow Palette.First, I used a neutral eyeshadow around the crease to set the base, then got darker as I moved from my lower crease to my actual eyelid. I used a honey brown tone on the lid and then added that same shade in the lower lid. Then I added gold shimmer to the inner corners of my eye pulling towards my nose. -
OUTLINE AND ACCENTUATE
I used a dark eyeliner pen to outline my eyelids – both the upper and lower, and used a fine point liquid liner to pull the line in my inner corner out towards my nose. Additionally, I used a bronzer to deepen my contour on my cheekbones and on my temples and also applied some of the bronzer to the tip of my nose and neck. -
FINISHING TOUCHES
Lastly, I applied a nude lip liner and then a brown, matte lipstick to darken my lips and accentuate them. If you don’t have a brown matte lipstick, you can apply a soft matte lip balm as the last step for the lips. At this point, I would also apply my lashes if I didn’t have semi-permanent lashes on already (which I do in this post). For lashes, I suggest trying to get them long and feathery to add on the fur to your werewolf look.
