About Llysfaen Community Council
Llysfaen Community Council comprises two wards in the Main Village of Llysfaen, Peulwys and Upper Llysfaen above Old Colwyn in Conwy County. Llysfaen marks the end of the Coastal Strip, which terminates at Old Colwyn and the beginning of the rural area at Parc Peulwys (formerly the Peulwys Estate), which was built to a much lower housing density than an average estate, giving it a good area of green spaces enhanced by the recent environmental works. Undertaken by Cartrefi Conwy the Local Voluntary Stock Transfer Housing Association which took over management of the Conwy CCBC homes Ffordd y Llan takes us into Upper Llysfaen where St Cynfran’s Church the site of which dates back to 777 AD, the current church partly dating from 1377, and the Village Hall are situated. Two other Social Housing providers, North Wales Housing and Cymdeithys Tai Clwyd also have properties in Upper Llysfaen on and around Trem Y Don.
The Community Council meets currently at the Village Hall, opposite the Church, on the second Monday of the month excluding Bank Holidays, when it meets on the second Tuesday, and there is no meeting in August.
