Rising New Year's Resolutions (Japanese: 空高くあがる新年の抱負 New Year's Resolutions Rising High) was a story event in Pokémon Masters EX. It was focused on the sync pairs Clair (New Year's 2024) & Drampa, Wallace (New Year's 2024) & Blacephalon, and Katherine (Furisode Girl) & Slurpuff.

The "Clair Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Clair (New Year's 2024) & Drampa from the beginning of the event to January 19, 2024, and the "Wallace Seasonal Scout" gave players an increased chance of recruiting Wallace (New Year's 2024) & Blacephalon from the beginning of the event to January 19, 2024.

Players could team up with Katherine (Furisode Girl) & Slurpuff by completing the final story area of the event, Beat the Rain Clouds!. This would also earn them a medal.

During this event, players could earn New Year Tickets A and New Year Tickets A+ from battles that could be redeemed in the shop. All battles could be challenged an unlimited number of times except Daily Extreme Battle 1, which could only be challenged once per day. Extra tickets were automatically exchanged with coins once the event was finished.

The player could battle using Clair (New Year's 2024) & Drampa or Wallace (New Year's 2024) & Blacephalon to obtain +0.6× bonus tickets; Lisia (New Year's 2023) & Rapidash, Dawn (New Year's 2023) & Oricorio, Sabrina (New Year's 2022) & Chingling, Volkner (New Year's 2022) & Electivire, Lillie (New Year's 2021) & Ribombee, or Lance (New Year's 2021) & Gyarados to obtain +0.4× bonus tickets; and any unlisted Fairy- or Dragon-type sync pairs to obtain +0.2× bonus tickets.

This event featured the Battle Challenge, where players were challenged to defeat a team of strong opponents. Players could complete event missions by clearing these areas with teams using various theme skills, earning medals and other rewards.

Lisia	If it's an event Uncle Wall is organizing... it's bound to be wonderful, elegant, AND glorious! Am I right, Uncle Wall?
Wallace	Yes! I'll make sure it's fun for everyone. I hope you look forward to it!

Wallace	Not at all! Blacephalon is a wonderful partner Pokémon! What's actually on my mind is something Sabrina told me. She said she had a premonition that something "large, white, and long" would lead to my success. What could my key to success be?

Wallace	Exactly! I'd like you to challenge a mountain this time!
Volkner	But why?
Wallace	Well, the hint is a water Pokémon I love! A Magikarp living for many years can leap a mountain using Splash... It's a message from Pokémon! Traveling long roads on foot will lead to success! We should follow Magikarp's example... and climb a mountain to see the first sunrise of the year, in hopes that each of our New Year's resolutions will come true! So, in the spirit of supporting this endeavor... Blacephalon and I have prepared a fireworks display as a glorious treat! Please enjoy it along with the marvelous scenery from the top of the mountain!
Preschooler	Yay! Fireworks!
Youngster	I can't wait!
Poké Kid	Let's do our best to climb to the top!

Clair	You're quite fond of children, aren't you?

Clair	I found her a couple of days ago playing with some children. I thought it was strange because I couldn't see her Trainer. So I looked around but couldn't find anyone... In the end, I decided to take care of her myself.

Lance	That's excellent. You've certainly grown, Clair.
Clair	I can't stay inexperienced forever! Watch me! I'll succeed in climbing the mountain for New Year's! And I'll gain the approval of my master in Blackthorn City... by becoming a Gym Leader with impeccable skill and spirit! With my pride on the line, I won't lose!

Katherine	I'm Katherine! A Gym Trainer in Laverre City—and a furisode girl, too! Which means I'm not only a disciple of Valerie—the world-renowned clothing designer... but I'm also an amazing Fairy-type user!

Katherine	What opponents are fairies good against? I think you know the answer... Dragon Pokémon are no match for beautiful and cute fairy Pokémon!
Clair	What did you just say?! I won't allow you to talk bad about us dragon masters or dragon Pokémon! As the Gym Leader of Blackthorn City, I won't lose to you!
Katherine	Oooh? Well, at least you're a worthy opponent! OK then, let's battle!

Katherine	What?! You're blaming me?
(Katherine's Slurpuff notices something and turns to her)
Katherine	What's the matter, Slurpuff?
(Katherine stops and sniffs the air)
Katherine	Ugh?! It's the smell of rain...
Clair	What?! Is it going to rain? That means the event might get canceled!
Katherine	D-don't get angry with me! Ugh! Whether we battle here or keep climbing the mountain, the result is the same... We won't make it to the top of the mountain...and we won't see the sunrise or fireworks... What a horrible way to start the new year...
Clair	... ... ... Don't whine like that—you're being pathetic.
Katherine	What?
Clair	I won't let the rain ruin my future! Or anyone else's, for that matter! Everyone is looking forward to the sunrise and fireworks—especially the children!
Katherine	Ah—!
Clair	If we adults gave up, what would they think? Those kids have a longer future ahead of them—and far more potential! I won't ever give up! There must be a way...
(Drampa cries out)
Clair	I know! Drampa! Can you fly to Wallace and Blacephalon?
Katherine	Wh-what're you planning on doing?
Clair	We'll beat the rain clouds!
Katherine	Huh?!
Clair	You go ahead and tell everyone to wait a little longer!
Katherine	W-wait?!
Clair	I'm counting on you! Let's go, Drampa!

Lisia	D-don't get sad! OK?
Lance	The rain clouds are getting bigger...
Volkner	Yeah, we should probably start climbing down the mountain before it gets worse...
Sabrina	Wait...
Volkner	What's the matter?
Sabrina	Someone's coming to change the dark future...
(Katherine and Slurpuff appear)
Katherine	E-everyone! The rain will stop! I think...? So, um, please don't leave just yet!
Lillie	Huh? What do you mean by that?
KABOOM! BOOM!
(The group turns around)
Lance	That's—
Lisia	Hey, look! It's Blacephalon and Drampa!
Dawn	Wow! The clouds are getting smaller!
(Everyone looks up at the sky in awe at the fireworks; the clouds clear, and Wallace and Clair arrive on top of the mountain)
Wallace	Did you enjoy the artistry of flames decorating the sky?
Preschooler	Yup! It was so cool!
Poké Kid	It went "BOOM BOOM!" So powerful!
Dawn	So, you were able to launch all the fireworks we prepared!
Wallace	All thanks to Drampa and Blacephalon. The two of them using their moves together cleared the skies... and we were able to perform the finale of the event!
(The children and Drampa cheer)
Clair	I'm glad that you were able to protect the children's smiles.
Wallace	I never expected the large, white, and long something that Sabrina told me about to mean Drampa!
(Sabrina chuckles, and Katherine approaches Clair)
Katherine	I suppose you deserve to be called a dragon master... I didn't think you'd actually beat the rain clouds.
Clair	Of course I would! I'm surprised you were able to reach the top of the mountain in such a short time. I've changed my mind about you—only slightly, though. Oh, and... thanks for believing in me.
Lance	Just like a Magikarp that leaps over a mountain... they, too, have grown.
Katherine	Still, though... In the end, you got to the top of the mountain by riding Drampa, didn't you? So, I'm better than you because I didn't cheat—I climbed the mountain with my own feet!
Clair	Wha—?! Who do you think made the event a success?!
Katherine	That's a TOTALLY separate thing!
Clair	Ugh! It was stupid of me to give you ANY credit for this! Let's settle once and for all who's better!
Katherine	You're on! I'll never EVER lose to a dragon master.
(Clair and Katherine rush into battle)
Sabrina	There they go again...
Lance	sigh They've still got a lot to learn...
