As reported, Kohli was at the receiving end after he prevented Australian media from filming his child without his consent. Reportedly, Kohli was traveling with his family when media began filming. He asked them to stop, citing concerns for his children's privacy.
Australian journalist Tony Jones has criticised Kohli’s actions. The incident escalated when Jones, speaking for the media, accused Kohli of being a "bully" towards Channel Seven crew member Nat Yoannidis. Both Channel Seven and Channel Nine denied filming Kohli's children.
"Nat was out there with a cameraman, a Channel 7 reporter was out there with his cameraman and they were doing what we do on a daily basis essentially, and that's be at the airport to actually get identities, whether they're politicians, whether they're sporting identities or whatever. He took umbrage, he being Virat Kohli, to the fact the cameras were focused on him," the Daily Mail has quoted Jones as saying.

The controversy has divided fans and commentators alike. While many support Kohli’s efforts to protect his family’s privacy, others feel his reaction was excessive. Social media has been buzzing with debates, reflecting the stark cultural differences in handling public and private life between India and Australia.
This off-field distraction comes at a crucial time for Team India as they prepare for the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy tied 1-1, Kohli’s performance will be vital. Known for excelling at this venue, he will need to set aside the distractions and focus on maintaining his form for the decisive match.
