A little tricky to get to, but just remember: Guadalcanal, Casablanca and you'll find it. It's the brown brick building (Bldg 517).
I don't know about you but since I was 10 years old I've been getting a military iD and mostly because of the navy and on naval bases. As an adult I started getting them on Army posts and it's always so much quicker, and this place is no different. You don't need an appointment, and when we walked in, we were the only ones there. It literally took us longer to drive there than actually getting it. You sign in on the clipboard and have a seat, unless of course you have an experience like me and just walk into a cubicle.
The lady was really nice and friendly as opposed to the rude employees at NAS Oceana. I will be coming here from now on.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Isaac M.Norfolk, VA020Jan 14, 2022
Last time I went here it was very smooth I only had five people in front of me when I got there and very few other apoplexy came in for ID's. This place was fast and I would recommend ONLY going here.

I wanted to say that this rapids locator was top notch yesterday, AND every time I've been there for any type of CAC service for myself or family over the last 7 or so years that I've been in the area. There are 2 very competent employees who were working effectively/efficiently to execute their job even though the system kept on crashing. They continued to work through these obstacles with no hesitation putting off lunch to get the job done. I'd go back there ANYTIME... Thank you so much to the two young leaders who work there.

It is so nice to have an ID office on Fort Story. Going to a military ID office is like going to the DMV. The one on Little Creek has an average 2 1/2 hour wait. During peak season (summer months) your wait will be around an hour on Fort Story. During off season there is little to no wait. Because they are a small office with limited staffing, I recommend making an appointment online or going as a "walk in" when they open. They fill up with appointments and walk ins within an hour or so of opening. It is connected to Fleet Family Support.
