Call for Papers: OpenMPCon and IWOMP

Can you present a paper at OpenMP Conference (OpenMPCon) or  International Workshop on OpenMP (IWOMP)?

IWOMP is looking for researchers who want to present unpublished technical papers.
OpenMPCon provides an opportunity for the wider community of OpenMP users to present technical talks, posters, tutorials and workshops relating to their use of OpenMP.  OpenMPCon is also looking for submissions of BIrds-of-a-Feather (BoF) sessions and Panel Discussions.

Both conferences are scheduled to take place in Bristol UK in the week of Monday 13th September.

CSC – IT Center for Science, Finland has joined the OpenMP effort. One of the pan-European pre-exascale supercomputers, LUMI , will be located in CSC’s data center. “At CSC, we expect that with the pre-exascale EuroHPC LUMI supercomputer, OpenMP will play an important role in preparing our applications for the heterogeneous architecture and the exascale era”, says George Markomanolis, Lead HPC Scientist at CSC.

The EuroCC National Competence Center Sweden (ENCCS) is organizing a workshop on OpenMP Software Tools on June 1-2 and an OpenMP hackathon on June 8-9. These events are for researchers and developers who want to either implement OpenMP in their code (for either CPUs or GPUs), or optimize their existing OpenMP implementation using state-of-the-art Intel Tools. Hackathons teams will be able to run experiments both on the Intel Devcloud and on the Tetralith cluster at NSC.

These monthly calls allow users to share their OpenMP tips and experiences with the community and bring issues or concerns to the attention of the compiler developers and OpenMP language committee members.

FPGA-based hardware accelerators have received increasing attention mainly due to their ability to accelerate deep pipelined applications, thus resulting in higher computational performance and energy efficiency.

This paper by Nepomuceno and Sterl et al. extends the OpenMP task-based computation offloading model to enable a number of FPGAs to work together as a single Multi-FPGA architecture.
