APRIL IS ‘ADOPT A GREYHOUND MONTH’

Saturday 12th April 2025 – Our next ‘Meet a Greyhound’ event at kennels, 10.30 am to 12.30 pm. If you’ve ever wondered what greyhounds are like as pets, have questions about adopting or would just like to meet a greyhound this is for you! By Appointment ONLY. Please e mail [email protected] to register your interest. Adopted Makants hound IVY and owner Ellen look forward to meeting you.

Saturday 12th April 2025 – We are pleased to have a stall on Chorley’s monthly Makers market, which is held on Fazakerley Street in the town centre.

We’ll be there from 10 am to 4 pm with a wide selection of hand made items including dog coats and bandanas along with other gift items. We also should have a greyhound or two for you to meet during the day. We look forward to seeing you, please come along and support local makers – and your local greyhound rescue too!

Saturday 12th April 2025 – we will have a fundraising stall at Tyldesley Makers market in the town centre. We’re there from 10 am to 2 pm. Please come along and support us.

Sunday 13th April 2025 – We are pleased to be returning to Avant Garden centre in Leyland with many Easter crafts for sale and greyhounds for you to meet! Please come along and support your local greyhound rescue. We’re there from 10 am to 2 pm.

Saturday 19th April 2025 – Fundraising stall at Andrea’s Legacy Easter Fair, Kingsleigh Hall, King Street, Leigh WN7 4LR, 12 noon to 4 pm. We are pleased to have a stall at this event raising funds for the rescue. We will have Easter themed items and Easter crafts for sale with all funds raised being used for the ongoing care of the greyhounds at our rescue.

Saturday 26th April 2025 – We are raising awareness of greyhounds as pets at the Tesco, St. Helens Haydock store on Church Road, St Helens WA11 OGT. We’re there from 10am to 4 pm with greyhounds for you to meet. Hope to see you there!

Saturday 26th April 2025 – We are pleased to be returning to Pets at Home Horwich again on Saturday 26th April from 11 am to 1 pm. If you’ve ever wondered about adopting or just want to know more about the breed, why not come along for a chat?

MAY 2025

Saturday 3rd May 2025 – Nail clipping session at kennels, 11.30 to 12.30. No appointment required (be aware you may have a lengthy wait) and we do ask for a donation for this service. Greyhounds only please. You are responsible for yourself and your dog (s). You MUST muzzle your dog if there is the possibility they may be reactive towards other dogs.

*We would respectfully ask that anyone attends during this hour ONLY.* Refreshments available and our fully stocked kennels shop will be open.

Sunday 18th May 2025 – Sighthound social dog walk at:
Cuerden Valley Park, Berkeley Drive, Bamber Bridge, Preston. PR5 6BY
Time: 10.00am to set off at 10.30 am
Walk length: Two walk options – 1 hour OR 30 minutes
All dogs must remain on leads, no extendable leads please.
Voluntary £2 donation per hound.
Dog friendly cafe, toilets available. Pay and display parking.

Saturday 31st May 2025 – Fun Dog Show event at Broadstone Mill, Reddish, Stockport SK5 7DL from 12 midday. We are pleased to return to run a Fun Dog Show as part of the Worker Bee Market, an event that was very popular and well attended last year.

JUNE 2025

Sunday 1st June 2025 – Fundraising stall at Golborne Carnival, 11 am to 5 pm. We are pleased to be returning to this popular carnival in Golborne on 1st June. We’ll have a stall packed with items for human and hound, many of them home made by our own crafters group. We also hope to have some greyhounds for you to meet. Please come along and see us!

JULY 2025

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July 2025 – 10 am to 4 pm. We will have a stall at the Green Fayre at Beacon Country Park, Upholland. WN8 7RU. We are delighted to be attending this popular event once again this year. More details will follow nearer the time but definitely a date for your diary!
