• 40 volume (12%) is used only for significant transformations like super platinum blonde. They are only for professional use, and you should never use them at home as they can cause severe damage. 

Tips for choosing hair oxidant

Overall, it helps receive a more vivid shade and a long-lasting result. It allows the pigment to get into the cuticles and replace the natural shade. Apart from strength, you need to consider other factors while selecting the right hair oxidant. 

Pay attention to the type of dye. Semi- or demi-permanent dyes are often mixed with 3-9% peroxides. Permanent ones are used with stronger concentrations of 6-9%. Lighteners require 9-12% peroxides. 

The type of your strands is also important while selecting dyeing products. Fine and normal types react to the change better, while a thick one cannot have such a good reaction. A porous structure absorbs pigments better, but they wash off faster. The sleek and natural type is harder to penetrate. However, the tint stays in place for a longer time.
