“Where the sun and fun begins!”
Mallory Square is a plaza located in the city of Key West, Florida, United States. It is located on the waterfront in Key West's historic Old Town, adjacent to the cruise ship port. It is located just west of the northern end of Duval Street, facing the Gulf of Mexico. It runs the entire length of Wall Street. Adjacent to the square are the Key West Shipwreck Historeum Museum and the Old Post Office and Customshouse. It is the location of the "Sunset Celebration", which is considered one of the main tourist attractions of the city. The "Sunset Celebration" involves hundreds of tourists who arrive each night to view the sunset. The celebration includes arts and crafts exhibitors, street performers and food carts. It begins two hours before sunset, every day of the year. In 1984 the city opened a pier right on Mallory Square. The decision was met with considerable opposition from people who felt it would disrupt the tradition of watching the sunset at Mallory Square. In response to this, the city passed an ordinance requiring cruise ships to leave port two hours before sunset, enabling them to return after sunset without an additional docking fee.

The most touristy area of Key West..
Sunset is beautiful! This is an amazing spot to see talent and just enjoy the end of the day!
We went to Mallory Square after a day in town doing all the fun stuff. We wanted to see a wonderful sunset and check out all the attractions they supposedly had there at the Square! They do this daily and that's unbelievable to me! They are surrounded by good restaurants and many local bars! We settled in and had a lovely sunset. The music was playing from several locations! There was a fire eater on a unicycle in the middle and many other things going on around the square! It was indeed a great time but, when the sunset is over, most start to fade away and head for home or inside to the various restaurants or bars! It is truly a unique little adventure!
The Sunset Celebration in Mallory Square is worth braving the mobs of tourists. It's Key West quirkiness at its best. And oh that sunset!
