Why Ezra Miller's role is being recast in ‘Invincible’ Season 2? Creator reveal details

Fans of the hit animated series Invincible were surprised when Eric Bauza took over the role of D.A. Sinclair in Season 2, replacing Ezra Miller from the first season. However, creator Robert Kirkman has shed light on the decision, suggesting that it wasn't driven by controversies surrounding Miller, but rather by scheduling conflicts.

Miller, known for their role in the DCEU and facing allegations and legal issues ahead of The Flash release in 2023, didn't return for Season 2. While some speculated that public backlash contributed to Miller's departure, Kirkman emphasized that availability was the primary factor behind the recasting.

In an interview with Variety, Kirkman compared the situation to other recastings in the show, citing scheduling challenges. He highlighted Eric Bauza's talent and experience in animation, expressing enthusiasm about working with him. Bauza's involvement in the shelved Warner Bros. Discovery project Coyote vs. Acme adds an intriguing layer to the situation.

Despite uncertainties surrounding Coyote vs. Acme, Invincible remains on steady ground, with Season 3 already in the works. Kirkman assured fans that they won't face the same lengthy wait between seasons as before, as Season 3 was ordered alongside Season 2.

"We worked on Season 2 and Season 3 concurrently," Kirkman revealed to Variety. He teased further improvements, expressing confidence that each season surpasses the last. As fans eagerly await Season 3, Kirkman's optimism about the show's trajectory is reassuring.

The first two seasons are available for streaming on Prime Video.
