- Personal info: (English)Hello, my name is Jon and I am an administrator on Wikimedia Commons, an account creator on the English Wikipedia and an OTRS agent. My work focuses on anti-spam and anti-vandalism and I am mostly active on IRC networks under the nick “kolbert”.
As a member of the English Wikipedia Account Creation Team, I help users who are caught up in rangeblocks create accounts and participate in Wikimedia projects. As a considerable portion of requests are global blocks, we rely on the work of stewards to filter requests and prevent LTAs from getting through this process. There is a large backlog of requests and only a few stewards active on the team (list of users).
I have also worked in collaboration with other Wikimedians to combat cross-wiki LTAs through edit filters and other monitoring to help identify and address specific types of vandalism and spam. - Questions: See Stewards/Elections 2019/Questions#Jon Kolbert

- Cohaf (Eligible, checked by Defender) • I am seeing no red flags and I am impressed with their answers to my questions. They do it promptly (in fact very). They will be a fine steward.--Cohaf (talk) more details of my vote here 14:24, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- TonyBallioni (Eligible, checked by Defender) • I can say with confidence that Jon Kolbert would be one of the strongest additions to the steward team this year. He has admin experience on commons, the 2nd largest project, and works seemlessly on en.wiki to help in files and other areas where this experience is needed. This ability to cross between the cultures of those two projects is not something we often see from individuals highly active on one of the other, and makes me comfortable trusting him to work on any project because I know he will always respect policy and local users. I have no qualms here. Strongest possible support. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:31, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Natuur12 (Eligible, checked by Stïnger) • one of the best admins Commons has. Fair, honest and patient. Natuur12 (talk) 14:38, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

- AntiCompositeNumber (Eligible, checked by Defender) • I have had the pleasure of interacting with Jon Kolbert for a few years now, and I trust their judgement immensely. Their experience on Commons will be very helpful in stewardship as they are already comfortable dealing with editors from many different backgrounds speaking many languages. - Vermont (Eligible, checked by Stïnger) • I strongly believe Jon Kolbert would be a highly beneficial asset to Wikimedia in a steward role. He is experienced in steward-related areas, and is more than sufficiently trustworthy to hold steward permissions. Vermont (talk) 15:27, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

- Ajraddatz (Eligible, checked by Stïnger) • I would like to see more crosswiki experience or experience with advanced permissions, but the answers to questions are good. Take it slow once you are elected, and be sure to ask lots of questions :-) – Ajraddatz (talk) 16:05, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

- Esteban16 (Eligible, checked by Ajraddatz) • His anti-abuse work is good and would make him be able to perform stewards actions wisely. Considering his participation on many other areas, I think the low cross-wiki activity wouldn't make him less capable of holding the flag. Esteban16 (talk) 17:22, 8 February 2019 (UTC)

- MF-Warburg (Eligible, checked by Ankry) • Not much cross-wiki experience and "filtering requests" in the enwiki account creation queue does not seems like steward work. MF-W 19:19, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
- Rschen7754 (Eligible, checked by Defender) • - Might do okay if elected but I would prefer a bit more experience (only adminship is Commons, which has been held for just over a year [1], and in my opinion ACC and OTRS have a lower bar of entry, and neither really deal with the sort of CU/OS private data that one would have access to as a steward - ACC provides IP addresses of new editors, not necessarily those that are already established). --Rschen7754 14:03, 8 February 2019 (UTC)
