The first Bayraktar TB2 drone base was opened in Kyrgyzstan
The Bayraktar drone base of the Border Service was opened in Kyrgyzstan.
The press service of the country’s president reported this.
The Turkish Bayraktar TB2 base will perform the main air defense tasks of the ground forces and military units of the Kyrgyz Republic armed forces for border protection.
Sadyr Japarov, President of Kyrgyzstan, was present at the opening ceremony of the drone base. He emphasized that guarding the borders is one of the priority tasks for the armed forces, so the improvement of the border troops’ provision will continue.
“I have always stated that Kyrgyzstan is a peaceful country. I would like to emphasize that our efforts to strengthen the Armed Forces are focused only on defense,” Japarov said.
Bayraktar drones are operated by military personnel who have undergone appropriate training.
Kyrgyzstan had first purchased the Turkish drones for border guards last December and became the first Collective Security Treaty Organization country to have Bayraktar UAVs in service.
As previously reported, the Turkish Baykar enterprise unveiled the concept of a drone production factory planned to be constructed in the Kyiv region.
The factory will take up a space of over 30,000 square meters, and more than 300 Ukrainian engineers and technicians will be employed there.
It will produce not only the Bayraktar TB2 but also the Akinci and even, probably, the state-of-the-art Kizilelma jet-powered supersonic stealth сarrier-capable UСAV, along with the other Baykar products.
