The State Capitol building is open to the public Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Saturday hours are 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM.  The building is closed on Sundays.

Tour an architectural masterpiece by influential architect Cass Gilbert. From its grand stairs to its historic legislative chambers to the public works of art surrounding the building, there's always something to see at the State Capitol. Take a free guided tour to see the restoration effort up close or take your own self-guided tour .

Access Information

The loading dock for the Capitol Building is at the Minnesota Senate Building, 95 University Ave. W., St. Paul, MN 55155.  Loading dock is on the north side of building on Sherburne Avenue. Loading dock can accommodate straight trucks only; no semi-tractor trailers

Cafeteria

The Transportation Cafe will be closed during the 2025 Legislative Session.

The Rathskeller (Capitol) Cafe is open during legislative sessions only.
Hours:    Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
                Friday, 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM

The Centennial Cafeteria will open for operation on Monday, January 6.
Hours:    Monday-Thursday, 8:00 AM – 1:30 PM
               Friday, 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

All other cafeterias on the Capitol Complex remain closed.

Catering service is available from Taher Capitol Complex Dining Services at 651-224-3004.
